There also comes a time when changes NEED to be made. When a child doesn't know the difference between right and wrong, they're told, and they make a change. A child is OBEDIENT. We as adults can know rights and wrongs but pretty much, we're selfish. In all of us we have desires that WE want. Even a child is selfish, but they allow themselves to be told they're wrong and they MAKE a change. As adults we can say, "Even though it may hurt others it's good for me," Self. Self. Self. We're stubborn. How teachable a child is! And they put it into practice! They may not want to, just like us, but after some understanding they do it anyway. They learn justice at a young age. I enjoy watching a child struggle with this. Mostly because of the expressions on their faces. They're trying so hard to figure out what you tell them. Because they WANT to know. They want to understand.
And through it all a child is completely humble. HUMILITY. A child is so small, they're in the background of life, but they're really the biggest example of how to live that we have. They are so completely vulnerable. They allow themselves to be wrong and make changes. They let us see this. And what's more, they don't even know the example they are to all of us. So, they can't get on an "ego trip." They can't comprehend this. There's no pride-a huge chasm in life.
So, if you've never watched a child before, maybe you should. Maybe YOU need to make some changes. It's time for those masks to come off. And know this: It's never too late to make changes in your life. Don't ever feel trapped. I can guarantee a certain amount of pain in this process. For no one likes to see the areas of life we're weak in. No one really LIKES to be vulnerable. But in the end, I guarantee you'll be stunningly beautiful, because you're free!!!
"Children have the ability to get right to the heart of issues."
-John Whitney (missionary in L.A., CA)
"I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven."
-Jesus Christ (Son of God and Savior of the world)
I would SO enjoy hearing from you! I welcome comments, suggestions, your own ideas, going more in depth to what I'm talking about. Please feel free to disagree with me. Let's "have some words."
