The life of Kurt Warner is an amazing story of how God can use one of his children to share God with millions of people. Kurt Warner has had a roller coaster ride as a professional football player.

His career started in college at the University of Northern Iowa. Kurt attended school there for five years, but only started at quarterback his fifth year. Kurt had a very successful year and was drafted by the Green Bay Packers. He had little chance of making the team and was eventually cut. He then played for the Iowa Barnstormers of the Arena Football League. He also bagged groceries to help make ends meet for his family. After a couple of seasons Kurt and his wife had a decision to make about his future. They felt that God still had plans for Kurt in football so he continued with football. He played 1998 in Europe for NFL Europe. At the beginning of 1999 he was picked up by the Rams as a backup to Trent Green. Green was injured in the final pre-season game and Kurt was given his chance. Kurt had one of the greatest seasons in NFL history leading the Rams to the Super Bowl where he was named MVP.

Kurt's magical year brought out his amazing story and also his relationship with Jesus Christ. Most people will look at his life and say how lucky he is to do the things he did, particularly this year. KurtÕs story has nothing to do with luck or fate. God puts people in the position they are in to glorify him. Kurt has an amazing story because that is the way that God scripted it to happen. God knows and understands that the media and fans love a great story like this. God used Kurt and gave him the ability to have this remarkable season. One of the things that Kurt always did in his interviews was to first give glory and praise to God the Father. The same was true after the Super Bowl. Kurt first gave glory and thanks to Jesus for the blessings in his life. God had millions of fans around the world tuned in so he could share what a blessing it is to have Christ as the center of oneÕs life. God showed the world that if you believe in him and love him he will bless you beyond your wildest dreams.

I was very impressed for the most part with Kurt Warner. There was one thing that struck me and others. There are times that all of us forget that God has given us everything and without him we are nothing. Kurt did give praise to God which is wonderful, but there were times where he said that he just kept believing in himself during the hard times. People could infer from this statement that by believing in yourself you can accomplish some lofty goals. This could not be more wrong. We as humans cannot accomplish anything without the blessing from God. Without God we just run around in circles following ourselves which takes us nowhere. We must constantly remind ourselves that our belief should be in one place and one place only and that is with God. To believe in ourselves is foolish and a waste of time. We must put our belief and faith in God to be successful.

The key to success is to have full faith in God that he will take care of us and use us for his glory. He has given us all gifts to succeed in life, but these gifts donÕt mean anything if our motivation is not right. We must use our gifts to glorify him and in return he will bless us in all aspects of our life. If God blessed Kurt Warner with a Super Bowl Championship as a reward for his faithfulness imagine what God can do in your life.
