You start with nothing, and you go from there. That’s how it usually works with websites. It takes a while to build a reputation, it takes a while to build a visitor base. When 50 visitors come to your website in the first month, you dream of getting 500. When 500 come, you set your sites on 1000, and after 1000, you start chasing 10,000. That’s the number Abort73.com is chasing this January. On the surface, it’s an absurdity. We have no practical mechanism for getting there, but as with any great kingdom venture, God will do as He pleases, no matter how impossible it seems.

After months of steadily building the Abort73 website, January is the official beginning of our efforts to build a visitor base. Without an audience, what good is a message? In July of last year, 90 unique visitors came to Abort73.com. In September that number rose to 124, in November it went to 185, and in December of 2004, 1196 different people came to Abort73.com. If we could jump from 185 to 1000 in one month, why not go from 1000 to 10,000 in the next?

After the first 13 days in January, our 2005 visitor total stood at 1290, which leaves us well off our 10K pace. On the other hand, the one day total for January 12 was 376 unique visitors, and that tells us that our momentum is building!
