Changing Everything! Before continuing to the larger changes ahead (which we’ll only get to cover in brief), let’s preface them with a quick look back. It’s been less than a year since the debut of Abort73’s Abortion Unfiltered DVD. So far, we’ve distributed more than 14,000 copies! Considering that DVD production wasn’t even on the radar when Abort73 first launched, the response has been overwhelming. The DVDs have become a huge part of our educational scheme, and have opened our eyes to all sorts of new possibilities. To build on the success of the DVDs, we’re developing a new collection of partnership packages. These external Abort73 resources, specially tailored to gain traction within a specific sphere of influence, will help us better connect with people who are already actively opposing abortion, and will also provide a more specific entry point for churches and ministries that aren’t yet involved. We’ll highlight these resources more in the summer issue (though you can get a taste by reading through the Abort73 blog archives). Our first order of business is the website. There are a number of reasons why it is time to retire the design that helped get us off the ground. The main reason is that it seems to have climbed as far is it can go up the search engine ladder. By normal indications, Abort73 should be a page one fixture for “abortion”, but we can’t seem to get there. We’ve gone as high as page 2 on Google but generally hover around page 4 (and page four might as well be page 100). If we don’t get to page one, we will continue to miss out on thousands upon thousands of people who are already looking for abortion information online. While most of our marketing efforts aim at reaching people who aren’t even thinking about abortion, we should certainly be reaching the people who are thinking about it. If we don’t, Planned Parenthood, or any one of the numerous abortion clinic websites, probably will. You see why this redesign is about much more than just pursuing a “cooler” look. Of course, while we’re at it, we’ll do everything we can to make the site look better, load faster, and navigate more intuitively, while providing increasingly thorough (and better organized!) content (with more integrated video sections). We have the road map in place, but getting there is no small task. There is more research to be done, a steep learning curve to overcome, and very few hours to work with. As you read on, you’ll see why it’s so important that we grow our staff and grow our funds, and how crucial it is that this whole undertaking be covered in prayer!

Prayer Requestsand church ministries) would wear Abort73 gear to school. Pray that Abort73 would come to be represented on every high school and college campus in America. • Pray that more churches, youth ministries, and pro-life college clubs would learn of our work, embrace it and promote it. • Pray that those students who are wearing Abort73 to campus would be in the pathway of the right people and would be full of love and humility when the opportunities to talk about Abort73, abortion, and their own convictions arise. Pray that they live well, love people, and carry themselves in a way that recommends the site.

Pray that more Christian bands would be emboldened to be a public witness against abortion and would help point their fans towards the work Abort73 is doing. Pray that their influence would not just be used in the service of press-friendly social issues, but would also be poured out on behalf of those children, right here in America, who are being killed en masse, every single day. • Pray that more nationally known churches and ministries would commend the work of Abort73 and thereby help our influence grow. • Pray that the efforts of Abort73.com would be noticed and covered by both Christian and secular media outlets.

Pray for a larger donor base, that we would have the funds needed to expand this work, and that more people would have the blessing of giving to something eternal. • Pray for the personal integrity and wisdom of Loxafamosity Director, Mike Spielman. Pray that he would remain faithfully committed to Christ, to the local church, to his wife and family, and that there would be no patterns of sin in his life that would compromise the work of Abort73.

Doubling the Staffthat?! Here’s where we are financially. In 2005, we received $20,400 in donations. In 2006, that amount more than doubled to $42,800. It would be great to double that amount again, but there is no magic formula for making that happen. It is going to take a group of people, buying into our ministry vision, believing it to be God-honoring, with a high probability of success, who will invest their money in our work with the joyful expectation of being part of something bigger than us all, something that will change the way the world thinks about abortion, and the way the world thinks about life. We’ll spare you the sob stories. You won’t hear us say, “We’re sacrificing to do this, won’t you sacrifice to support us?” Nobody is sacrificing, in any ultimate sense, to do this work. It is not lucrative, but it is unimaginably engaging, challenging, and fulfilling. We’re all looking for something beyond ourselves, our family, and even our local church to pour our lives into, and this work offers such opportunities in droves. Each of us has limited resources to invest for God’s glory and our joy, and we (Loxafamosity) do our best to tell you exactly what funds we have, what we’re doing with them, and what we still need. It is exciting, crucial work, and your donations will help insure that our influence doesn’t stagnate, but expands across the globe!
